The Amdar Chashak cricket tournament, featuring both men's and women's categories, is set to commence on May 21 at the Salvador do Mundo ground in Porvorim. The event will bring together teams from across the constituency, providing a platform for young cricketing talent and sports enthusiasts to showcase their skills.
Participation and Schedule
Over 70 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, with the final match scheduled for Sunday. The tournament aims to foster a spirit of competition and camaraderie among local players.
Launch Ceremony
As part of the grand launch celebrations, the trophy and jerseys were unveiled at Art Park in a ceremonial event. The ceremony was attended by tourism minister Rohan Khaunte, along with zilla panchayat member Sandip Salgaonkar, Amit Asnodkar, sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar, Sonia Pednekar, BJP Porvorim mandal president Vinit Parab, and panch members.
Speaking at the event, Khaunte said, “Amdar Chashak is not just a tournament but a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and youth talent.” He added that the enthusiasm among players and cricket lovers clearly reflects the growing sporting spirit in Porvorim.
