Ashwin noted that Sudharsan demonstrated exceptional adaptability, recognizing the need to shoulder the batting burden. "Sai Sudharsan knew that Shubman wasn't playing today, so he had to do the heavy lifting himself," Ashwin stated during his analysis on JioStar.

"The way he started showed that he understands his strengths. He used pace well, guiding the ball towards third man, and then played some good cover drives on the front foot," Ashwin explained. He further pointed out Sudharsan's aggressive approach against spinner Ravindra Jadeja, noting his immediate attack and successful execution of a slog sweep.

Ashwin believes that Sudharsan's performance underscores his critical role in the team, especially when paired with Shubman Gill. "These are the strong areas for Sudharsan, which he relies on, and he got the results. He needs to play like this, carry the innings, but at a good tempo," Ashwin remarked. He emphasized that Gill's absence was a significant setback for Gujarat Titans, but the return of their regular skipper will be pivotal.
"For the Gujarat Titans, missing Shubman Gill was a big setback. So obviously, when Shubman returns, this opening combination will be key for them going forward, yet again," Ashwin added, forecasting a promising partnership at the top of the order.
