England have unveiled their 15-member squad for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka. The most notable inclusion is 18-year-old all-rounder Corteen Coleman, who has been rewarded for her impressive performances in domestic cricket.
Squad Overview
The squad, led by captain Heather Knight, features a blend of experienced campaigners and young talents. Alongside Coleman, other key players include Tammy Beaumont, Sophia Dunkley, and Nat Sciver-Brunt. The team will aim to build on their strong performances in recent ICC events.
Inclusions and Omissions
Coleman's selection comes after a stellar domestic season where she scored over 400 runs and took 15 wickets. However, there were some notable omissions, including experienced pacer Katherine Brunt, who has been rested due to workload management. The selectors have also given opportunities to younger bowlers like Lauren Filer and Alice Capsey.
The squad will be led by head coach Jon Lewis, who expressed confidence in the team's balance. "We have a good mix of youth and experience, and we believe this squad can compete strongly in Sri Lankan conditions," Lewis said.
Tournament Schedule
The Women's T20 World Cup 2026 will be held from September to October, with matches across multiple venues in Sri Lanka. England are placed in Group A alongside Australia, India, and two other teams. Their campaign begins against Australia on September 15.
The selectors have also named a reserve list, including wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones and spinner Sarah Glenn, who will travel with the team as cover.
