A young farmer lost his life in a road accident early Wednesday morning in front of the Verka Milk Plant on the Ferozepur road in Ludhiana. The victim was transporting vegetables to the market in his Mahindra Bolero pick-up vehicle when he lost control and collided with a divider. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Victim Identified as Sandeep Singh

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a 27-year-old farmer who regularly supplied vegetables from his fields to the market. According to reports, he left his home in Ferozepur late Tuesday night with a load of vegetables. Around 2:30 am, as he reached the Verka Milk Plant, his vehicle went out of control and struck the divider. Sandeep sustained severe head injuries and other bodily trauma.

Passers-by immediately called for an ambulance, but by the time medical help arrived, Sandeep had already succumbed to his injuries. Officials from the Sarabha Nagar police station were notified and reached the scene promptly. They took the body to the Civil Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

According to family members, Sandeep was unmarried. He is survived by his parents and two brothers.
