The inaugural match of the JNT U-12 Cricket Tournament took place at the Kanpur South ground on Monday, where Goldi XI emerged victorious over SNK XI by a margin of 68 runs. In another encounter at the B ground, Sigma Griplock XI defeated Swastik International by 46 runs.
Tournament Inauguration
The tournament was officially inaugurated by chief guest Archana Singh, ADCP, and Vinayak Shukla, vice-captain of the Oman cricket team. Vinayak Shukla, who began his cricketing journey with JNT junior cricket, expressed his honor at being invited as the chief guest on the same platform where he once played.
Match Summaries
Goldi XI vs. SNK XI: Goldi XI posted a formidable total of 198 for 6 in their allotted overs. Key contributors with the bat were Harsh Gupta (50), Aryan Yadav (47), and Vaibhav Yadav (17). For SNK XI, Ansh Kumar and Vansh took two wickets each, while Dharam Dev and Jivansh claimed one apiece. In reply, SNK XI managed only 130 for 8, with Anash Yadav top-scoring with 20 runs. Devansh was the pick of the bowlers for Goldi XI, taking 2 for 39, while Abu Fazal, Ganesh Pal, Tanay Bajpai, Raunak, and Devansh Kartik each took one wicket.
Sigma Griplock XI vs. Swastik International XI: Sigma Griplock XI were bowled out for 116, with Shivansh Chaudhary scoring 34 and Aditay Yadav adding 21. Madhav Bajpai was named Man of the Match.
