Ireland to Face Israel in Neutral Venue Nations League Match
Ireland vs Israel Nations League Match at Neutral Venue

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has confirmed that Ireland's upcoming Nations League match against Israel will be played at a neutral venue behind closed doors, following protests over the civilian death toll in Gaza.

Decision Amid Protests

According to a Reuters report, the decision came after players and fans expressed concern over the war in Gaza. Ireland was originally scheduled to host Israel at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on October 4, but the match will now be moved. The September 27 fixture, designated as an Israel home game, is also expected to be played at a neutral venue.

The FAI statement noted that the Palestinian Football Association expressed appreciation for Ireland's principled stance supporting Palestinian rights and athletes.
