Jey Uso has responded to recent online criticism after being labeled as the "most hated" WWE star on the company's roster. The backlash came after he won the King of the Ring tournament, where he defeated Finn Balor, LA Knight, and Royce Keys to advance to the semifinals.
While the win kept Uso's momentum alive, a section of the WWE fanbase expressed disappointment with the outcome, believing other competitors were more deserving of the spotlight. In fact, LA Knight also engaged in a heated argument with management over the booking of the tournament. Meanwhile, the discussion gained further traction when fans on Twitter claimed that Uso is the most disliked superstar in WWE.
Jey Uso Responds to Claims as the Most Hated WWE Star
Jey Uso recently responded to claims of being the most hated WWE star after his SmackDown win. However, the star did not hold back and responded to the claims, saying that he considers himself one of the company's most loved performers rather than its most hated.
During the June 12 edition of SmackDown, Jey Uso defeated LA Knight, Finn Balor, and Royce Keys in a chaotic Fatal Four-Way first-round match. The bout spilled all over the arena, which led to Uso finally scoring the win with a splash. This did not sit well with fans, who were upset with Jey Uso advancing in the King of the Ring tournament.
LA Knight's Heated Argument with Management
This also led WWE star LA Knight to get involved in a heated argument with management for not advancing him in the King of the Ring tournament. Meanwhile, Coachman claimed that WWE does not want Knight to elevate beyond his current position despite his popularity, and believes the company also does not want him getting any bigger than he already is.
Coachman also noted that Knight remains a valuable performer because of his promo ability and strong crowd reactions, but alleged that management does not want him to become an even bigger star. Coach also pointed to Knight's age; the 44-year-old may not have many years left to wait for a major main-event push, and would have been very angry about the situation.
Uso's Polarizing Status in WWE
Despite the criticism, Uso remains one of WWE's most popular and polarizing figures. His rise as a singles competitor has divided fans and admirers. His supporters praise his charisma and connection with audiences, while critics have questioned WWE's continued push of the former Bloodline member, ignoring other senior players in the league.
