In the ongoing Kanpur District Cricket Association (KDMA) league matches held on Monday, BL Jasrai Club and Sporting Union emerged victorious in their respective encounters, showcasing dominant performances across different grounds in the city.
PAC Ground: BL Jasrai Club's Commanding Victory
At the PAC ground, BL Jasrai Club delivered a stellar performance, defeating Kherapati Club by a convincing margin of 9 wickets. Kherapati Club, batting first, managed to post a total of 105 runs before being bowled out. Key contributions came from Aditya Shukla, who scored 32 runs, and Aryan Saxena with 23 runs. However, the bowling attack of BL Jasrai proved too strong, with Abhishek Verma leading the charge by taking 3 wickets for 24 runs. He was well-supported by Madhur Khanna and Sanchit Khanna, who claimed 2 wickets each for 20 and 21 runs respectively, while Siddharth Swarup added 2 wickets for 35 runs.
In response, BL Jasrai Club chased down the target with ease, scoring 106 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket. Archit Tripathi was the standout performer, scoring 75 runs, ably assisted by Himanshu with 57 runs and Prateek contributing 29 runs. Abhijeet Singh added 21 runs to the scoreboard. For Avero Club, Luv Awasthi was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 25 runs, while Shivam Yadav and Sparsh Tiwari chipped in with 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Avero Club, in their chase, struggled against Sporting Union's bowling attack and were bowled out for 120 runs. Faraz Ahmad top-scored with 44 runs, and Ashish Mehrotra added 20 runs. Sunday League: BCA Legends Outplay Blue Warriors
In a separate Sunday League match held under floodlights at the BCA ground on Sunday evening, BCA Legends outplayed Blue Warriors by 5 wickets. Blue Warriors, put in to bat first, scored 169 runs. Rohit Singh led the innings with 53 runs, supported by Maninder Singh with 42 runs and Tribhuvan Dixit adding 22 runs. For BCA Legends, Surendra Singh was the star bowler, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs, and Satyendra Yadav claimed 2 wickets for 15 runs.
BCA Legends, in reply, chased down the target successfully, scoring 173 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Lavish Srivastava contributed 46 runs, Vineet Rastogi scored 22 runs, and Swar Tandon played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 70 runs.
