Kumble, Srinath, Joshi Join KSCA's Cricket Advisory Committee
Kumble, Srinath, Joshi in KSCA's Cricket Advisory Panel

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has made significant appointments to its Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), bringing in legendary cricketers to guide the state's cricketing future. The association has also revamped its junior selection system by forming a unified panel.

Star-Studded Advisory Committee Formed

The KSCA has enlisted the expertise of three of Karnataka's most celebrated cricketing sons for its Cricket Advisory Committee. The committee now includes former India captain and leg-spin great Anil Kumble, former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath, and former India left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi. Their vast experience at the highest level is expected to provide strategic direction and oversight for Karnataka cricket's development across all levels.

New Unified Panel for Junior Selection

In a move to streamline talent identification, the KSCA has decided that all junior state teams will now be selected by a single, dedicated panel. This panel will be responsible for picking players for the Under-19, Under-16, and Under-14 age groups. The decision aims to ensure consistency in selection philosophy and a clearer pathway for young cricketers progressing through the ranks.

Who Heads the Junior Selection Panel?

The crucial responsibility of heading this consolidated junior selection panel has been entrusted to former Karnataka batter GK Anil Kumar. He brings a deep understanding of the domestic and local cricketing landscape. The panel will be completed by three other members: C Raghavendra, G N Umesh, and D S Ananth. Their collective task will be to scout and nurture the next generation of cricketing talent from the state.

The announcements were formalized and reported on 16 December 2025. This restructuring signals the KSCA's intent to build a robust system backed by proven cricketing minds, from the grassroots to the advisory level. The involvement of icons like Kumble and Srinath is particularly noteworthy, as their insights will likely influence coaching, talent management, and overall cricketing policy in Karnataka.
