Mahindra Racing driver Nyck de Vries is back to his best, and how. After ending his dry spell in Formula E this season with a win at the Monaco E-Prix, the Dutch driver added another feather to his cap by winning the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans in the World Endurance Championship. The driver races for Toyota in the WEC and lifted the winners' trophy at Le Mans along with his two co-drivers. Envision Racing driver Sebastien Buemi, who also races for Toyota in the World Endurance Championship, finished third.

Toyota announced the winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday. The Instagram post on the team's handle read: “The 94th 24 Hours of Le Mans has chosen its winner: Toyota Racing reclaims the top spot before a crowd of 350,105. After the win, Nyck de Vries took to his Instagram Stories to share a quick update with his fans. Alongside glimpses of him lifting the winners' trophy with his team, he also shared a video in which he appeared to be getting teary-eyed after crossing the finish line. He celebrated the victory by hugging his teammates. “This is what we call happiness,” he wrote alongside the video on his Instagram Stories. He also reposted a video of their victory lap while sitting on top of the car after the race.
Nyck de Vries' Formula E stint this season
Nyck de Vries endured a difficult first half of the Formula E season. His best result was a fifth-place finish at the Miami E-Prix, and he failed to finish three of the first eight races. However, he ended that dry spell by winning Round 9 in Monaco in front of a star-studded celebrity crowd. He now sits 10th in the Formula E Drivers' Standings with 43 points. Coming off victories in Monaco and now at Le Mans, de Vries will surely head to China with plenty of confidence. He will next compete at the Sanya E-Prix, scheduled for 20 June.
