The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the 15-member ODI squad for the upcoming series against Australia, scheduled to take place in June 2026. The squad sees the return of former captain Babar Azam, who was rested for the previous series, while wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been dropped due to poor form.
Babar Azam Returns to Lead the Batting Line-up
Babar Azam, who has been in sublime form in recent domestic matches, will once again anchor the batting order. His inclusion is expected to provide stability and firepower to the top order. The right-handed batsman has an impressive ODI record, averaging over 56 with 19 centuries to his name.
Mohammad Rizwan Dropped After Inconsistent Performances
Mohammad Rizwan, who has been a regular in the ODI setup, has been left out after a string of low scores. Haris has shown promise in domestic cricket and will look to make an impact at the international level.

The selection committee has also made a few other notable changes. Fast bowler Hasan Ali has been recalled to the squad after a strong domestic season, while spinner Shadab Khan has been named vice-captain. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf has been included to provide balance to the side.
