In a dramatic encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the North Mumbai Panthers, led by Ajinkya Rahane, edged past the Bandra Blasters in a Super Over thriller during the Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai League 2026. Despite a record-breaking century from Blasters captain Suved Parkar, the Panthers managed to tie the match and clinch victory in the decisive one-over eliminator.
Parkar's Blazing Century Powers Blasters
Batting first on a batting-friendly surface, Parkar produced a sensational display, smashing the fastest century in the tournament's history off just 46 balls. His innings of 110 runs off 54 deliveries, featuring 10 fours and seven sixes, propelled the Blasters to a formidable total of 228 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. This was the second-highest total of the competition.
Parkar and opener Prateekkumar Ravishankar provided a flying start, adding 101 runs for the first wicket in just eight overs. Ravishankar contributed a brisk 33 off 15 balls before departing. In response, the Panthers were kept in the contest by Hardik Tamore, who continued his explosive form with a blistering 83 off 39 balls. He raced to a half-century in just 17 balls and stitched important partnerships with skipper Rahane (15) and Abhigyan Kundu (39).
The momentum briefly swung in the Blasters' favor when leg-spinner Sagar Chhabria struck three crucial blows, dismissing Tamore, Ayush Vartak, and Aayush Zimare in quick succession. However, Tanush Kotian refused to surrender, smashing two sixes and two fours in a 14-ball 32 to help the Panthers finish on 228 for 8, tying the match and forcing a Super Over.
In the Super Over, Vaibhav Mali struck two sixes and a four to help the Panthers post 20 for 1. The Blasters could only manage 7 for 0 in reply, handing the Panthers their second successive victory.
