RCA to Conduct Match Referee Workshop and Exam in May 2026

The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee has announced a significant initiative to professionalize cricket operations in the state. A match referee workshop and examination will be organized in May 2026, aiming to enhance transparency, discipline, and effectiveness in cricket management under the RCA's aegis.

Objective of the Initiative

According to Dr. Mohit Jaswant Yadav, convener of the ad hoc committee, the primary goal is to improve the quality of sports facilities, player discipline, and the responsibilities of match officials. This will be achieved by leveraging the experience of former cricketers to contribute to the development of state cricket during RCA's domestic season and state-level competitions.

Nomination Process

RCA ad hoc panel member Arisht Singhvi stated that three nominations, comprising two men and one woman, have been invited from each district cricket association for the workshop and examination. All district associations must submit applications in the prescribed format, including the nominee's name and a copy of their Aadhaar card, to the RCA by May 14, 2026.

The RCA is making the role of match referees more responsible and effective. Referees will now submit detailed reports on key tasks such as ground and venue conditions, quality of arrangements by host associations, ensuring timely completion of overs, enforcing penalties, monitoring disciplinary matters, and compiling umpire reports. This new system aims to ensure better discipline, accountability, and high-level cricket operations in state cricket.
