Speaking at the post-match presentation, Iyer said, "We weren't able to take catches at crucial moments. Those missed chances cost us the game." PBKS dropped multiple catches, allowing SRH batters to score vital runs. The home team managed to restrict SRH to a modest total, but fielding lapses let the opposition off the hook.
Batting Efforts in Vain
Chasing 183, PBKS came close but fell short by two runs. Iyer praised his bowlers for keeping the target within reach but lamented the lack of support from the fielders. "Our bowlers did a fantastic job, but we need to back them up with better fielding," he added.
The defeat leaves PBKS in a precarious position in the points table, needing to win their remaining matches to keep playoff hopes alive. Iyer urged his team to learn from the mistakes and bounce back stronger.
SRH, on the other hand, celebrated a crucial win that boosts their playoff chances. Captain Kane Williamson credited his team's resilience and composure under pressure.
