Shreyas Iyer Achieves 3,000 ODI Runs Milestone
Indian batter Shreyas Iyer reached 3,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket during the second ODI against Afghanistan at Lucknow. He became the second fastest Indian to achieve this milestone, doing so in 72 innings.
Iyer scored 26 runs off 24 balls, including one four and one six, with a strike rate of over 108. In his ODI career spanning 78 matches and 72 innings, he has accumulated 3,015 runs at an average of 45.68, with five centuries and 23 half-centuries.
Shubman Gill holds the record for the fastest Indian to reach 3,000 ODI runs, achieving it in just 62 innings. Iyer is tied with Shikhar Dhawan for the second-fastest milestone.
Despite this achievement, Iyer has had a relatively lean year so far, scoring only 98 runs in five innings at an average of 19.60, with a best score of 49.
