After Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered a defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), head coach Vikram Solanki dismissed any notion that the team's late arrival to the venue played a role in the outcome. Solanki stated that such factors are 'irrelevant now' and refused to use them as an excuse for the loss.
Solanki's Stance on Late Arrival
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Solanki emphasized that the team had ample time to prepare despite arriving later than usual due to logistical issues. 'We are not going to make excuses. The late arrival is irrelevant now. We had enough time to get ready, and we just didn't perform well on the day,' he said.
Performance Analysis
The Titans struggled in both batting and bowling departments, failing to post a competitive total and then unable to defend their score. Solanki acknowledged that RCB outplayed them in all facets of the game. 'They were the better team today. We need to look at our performance and improve for the next season,' he added.
Despite the loss, Solanki praised the team's overall journey in the tournament, highlighting their consistency throughout the season. 'We played some great cricket to reach the final. One bad game doesn't define our campaign,' he noted.
Focus on the Future
Looking ahead, Solanki stressed the importance of learning from the defeat and building a stronger squad for the next IPL edition. 'We will analyze what went wrong and come back stronger. The core of the team is solid, and we have a good foundation to work on,' he concluded.
