Kishan anchored the innings with a composed 70 off 47 balls, featuring seven fours and three sixes. Klaasen provided the impetus with a rapid 47 from 26 deliveries. Their 75-run stand turned the tide after SRH made a cautious start and lost Travis Head early. Abhishek Sharma also struggled for timing before Klaasen's aggressive approach helped SRH dominate the middle overs.
Cummins Shines with the Ball
Earlier, SRH captain Pat Cummins delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 3/28 and breaking crucial partnerships. Chennai began strongly through Sanju Samson, who attacked from the first over, but Cummins dismissed him with a sharp delivery. Young batters Urvil Patel and Kartik Sharma contributed useful cameos, while Dewald Brevis found form with an entertaining 44. Shivam Dube added 26 as CSK posted 180/7. Cummins removed Kartik Sharma with a slower delivery and later dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad, who struggled during his 15-run knock off 21 balls.
Playoff Race Heats Up
The victory took SRH to 16 points, confirming their playoff spot alongside Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. CSK remain on 12 points from 13 matches, with a slim mathematical chance of reaching the knockouts heading into their final league game.
