A devastating road accident in Khargone district on Wednesday evening resulted in the deaths of two young children and left their parents seriously injured. The incident occurred in the Karahi police station area when a motorcycle carrying a family of four collided head-on with a car.

According to police sources, the accident took place near the Shani temple in Katargaon village. Devkaran, a resident of Sejgaon village, was riding a motorcycle with his wife Ranu, their three-year-old daughter Ganika, and two-year-old son Siyanshu. The family was en route from Sejgaon to Mirzapur village to attend a religious discourse at Ranu Bai’s parental home.

On the way, their motorcycle was struck by a car that reportedly did not have a number plate. The impact was severe, throwing all four occupants off the vehicle.

Medical Response and Fatalities

All four injured individuals were rushed to Mandleshwar government hospital. However, doctors declared Ganika and Siyanshu dead on arrival. Devkaran sustained injuries to his head and leg, while Ranu Bai suffered a waist injury. The car driver was also injured and admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Police have seized the car, which was heading towards Omkareshwar at the time of the accident. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision and to trace the owner of the car, which lacked registration plates.
