The first day of the three-day written examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) for direct recruitment to the posts of constables, civil police, and equivalent positions concluded peacefully in Jhansi. The examination was held across 28 centres in two shifts under tight surveillance.
Absentee Figures and Inspection
According to Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Shiv Pratap Shukla, who also served as the nodal officer for the examination, a total of 4,900 candidates were absent on the first day. District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi and Senior Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murthy, along with other officials, conducted surprise inspections at several examination centres, including Bundelkhand University, to assess arrangements and ensure the integrity of the recruitment process.
Surveillance and Security Measures
The officials also inspected the command and control rooms established at the centres and reviewed live CCTV footage and recorded surveillance to monitor examination activities. To maintain order, prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) were enforced across the district.
