While legends like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma have seen their influence wane, Sooryavanshi has emerged as the new crowd-puller, captivating fans with his explosive batting.
Sooryavanshi's Stellar Performance
In 14 games this IPL season, Sooryavanshi has amassed 583 runs at a blistering strike rate of 232.27. He has hit 53 sixes, surpassing his 50 fours, showcasing his power-hitting ability. His performances have drawn praise from former India spinner R Ashwin, who revealed on his YouTube channel that he watches Rajasthan Royals matches with his parents, mirroring the excitement of Indian households.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal expressed admiration for the teenage sensation. "Vaibhav embodies IPL's tagline, 'where talent meets opportunity.' That boy is something else," Dhumal said in an interview. "Talent had always been there, but how do they get the opportunity? That platform has been granted by the IPL."
Dhumal credited Rajasthan Royals' scouting team for unearthing Sooryavanshi. "I think it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any scouting or selection team to pick up such amazing talent. Hats off to the guy who spotted him," he added.
Impact on Indian Cricket
Sooryavanshi's rise is seen as a boon for Indian cricket. Dhumal noted his performance in the U-19 World Cup final, where he scored 175 off 80 balls, leading his team to 411 runs. "That is unheard of in U-19 cricket, especially in a World Cup final," Dhumal said. "It augurs very well for Indian cricket. The IPL has been transformative for young talents over the past 18-19 years."
Handholding the Young Star
Dhumal acknowledged the responsibility of the BCCI and Rajasthan Royals in guiding Sooryavanshi through challenges. "Like any great player, he will go through ups and downs. He will fail. But sport trains you to get up and perform better," Dhumal said. "We need to handhold him, ensuring his temperament stays intact. Sport is about mental toughness as much as physical skill."
Dhumal concluded, "We will do our bit to ensure his skill set allows him to perform for India for many years to come."
