NEW DELHI: Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has opened up about the mental preparation and manifestation techniques that have propelled him to cricketing stardom. The 15-year-old, who recently became the youngest player ever to earn a call-up to India's men's T20I team, revealed his pre-match rituals in a conversation with Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder.
Visualization as a Key Tool
When asked about the power of manifestation and how he consistently achieves his goals, Sooryavanshi explained that he visualizes match situations long before stepping onto the field. "I have been trying this for a long time," he said. "Even when I am in my room, I imagine myself playing a match, thinking about how I would bat against a particular bowler and what I would do in different situations. If there is a pressure situation, I visualize how I would handle it. It helps a lot and makes you mentally stronger because you are already preparing both your mind and body."
Mental Strength Equals Skill
The Rajasthan Royals opener emphasized that mental fortitude is as crucial as technical skill, especially in high-pressure games. "It is very important to keep your mind strong," he added. "If you are playing an IPL final, batting alone and your team needs 50 or 60 runs from 20-30 balls, you have to remain mentally very strong. That is extremely important."
Maiden India Call-Up
Sooryavanshi's comments come just a day after he received his maiden call-up to India's T20I squad for the tours of Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games. India will play two T20Is in Belfast on June 26 and 28 before traveling to England for a five-match T20I series from July 1 to 11. The Men in Blue will also participate in the men's T20 competition at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, in September.

Sooryavanshi earned his India call-up on the back of a phenomenal IPL 2026 season.
