Kanpur: The Cantonment Club is set to organize a 7-a-side night football tournament at Azad Park starting from May 20 to commemorate the centenary of the Cantonment Football Club. The tournament will provide a platform for local football talent to showcase their skills under floodlights.

District Football Association secretary Ajeet Singh confirmed that the tournament has been officially recognized by the DSA. All affiliated clubs are eligible to participate, and the matches will follow standard 7-a-side rules. The night schedule aims to attract more spectators and create a vibrant atmosphere.

In a separate event, eye and dental specialists examined around 180 under-12 players at a health camp organized by the JNT organization at Kidwai Nagar Dharmshala. This camp was held ahead of the JNT U-12 Cricket Tournament, which is scheduled to begin at Kanpur South Ground on May 17.
