A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district claimed the lives of a father and his son on Monday morning. The incident occurred when a speeding car collided with their motorcycle near Hakuwa Mod under the Bandhua Kala police station area around 6 am.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Rajaram Prajapati (50) and his son Sikandar Prajapati (25), residents of Bahmarpur village under Kudwar police station limits.
Details of the Incident
According to police and family members, the duo had visited Rajaram's brother-in-law at Gauri Ka Purwa village on Sunday evening following an eye operation. They were returning home on Monday morning when the car allegedly struck their motorcycle. Both sustained critical injuries in the collision.
Medical Response
Locals immediately rushed them to the Community Health Centre in Musafirkhana. As their condition deteriorated, doctors referred them to Sultanpur Medical College, where they later succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
Investigation Underway
Police reported that the driver abandoned the car at the scene and fled. The damaged vehicle has been seized and brought to the police station for further investigation. Station house officer Pramod Kumar confirmed that efforts are on to trace the accused driver.
Family Background
Rajaram worked with a construction company but had been at home due to ill health. His son Sikandar was employed with a private firm in Surat and had returned on leave about a month ago. He was married, and his wife is currently at her parental home, said SHO Kumar.
