A junior hockey coach working at a government school in Rewari faces serious charges. Police arrested him for allegedly raping a minor student about four months ago. Authorities registered a case against the coach under BNS Section 63, which deals with rape, along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Court Proceedings and Police Custody
The accused coach appeared in court following his arrest. A magistrate remanded him to two days of police custody for detailed questioning. Investigators need this time to thoroughly examine the allegations and gather evidence.
Victim's Complaint and Allegations
The victim, a Class 12 student, filed her formal complaint at Khol police station on January 9. She told police she had been playing hockey for several years and knew the junior coach for approximately three years. In her statement, she alleged the coach sexually assaulted her in the stadium bathroom located within the government school premises about four months prior.
Medical Complications and Investigation
According to police officials, the girl reported becoming pregnant following the alleged sexual assault. Her health condition worsened significantly on January 5, prompting her family to rush her to a hospital for urgent medical treatment. Tragically, she suffered a miscarriage during this hospitalization.
Police investigators are now questioning the coach extensively to establish the exact sequence of events and verify the allegations detailed in the complaint. They plan to collect all relevant medical documents concerning the girl's hospital admission and treatment. Additionally, officers will record statements from witnesses connected to the stadium and the girl's regular training schedule.
