Sohail, a Class 9 student, drowned while attempting to rescue his father’s sister, Zainab, who was drowning in the deep waters of the dam. Local divers conducted search operations and successfully retrieved the bodies of the deceased.

Police Response

“The bodies were sent to Garhwa sadar hospital for post-mortem examination,” said Meral police station Officer-in-Charge Vishnu Kant. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
