A young man has been arrested in connection with violent incidents that occurred during the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final late Sunday night. The accused, identified as Sudesh, 22, a resident of KR Pura and an employee at a private firm, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, according to police officials.
Details of the Incident
Around 11:30 pm on Sunday, three men arrived at Banasawadi on a motorcycle and began shouting slogans loudly in support of RCB, causing public inconvenience. When police personnel on duty advised them to stop creating a disturbance, the situation escalated. One of the men allegedly dismounted the motorcycle and confronted the officers. He then reportedly abused the policemen, grabbed a constable, and pushed him to the ground.
Police Response and Arrest
As officers attempted to apprehend the individual, the other two men joined him. The trio then abandoned the motorcycle at the scene and fled. Using the vehicle's registration details, investigators tracked down and arrested Sudesh. Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the other two suspects.
