In an exclusive interview, Rathi revealed that his approach to IPL 2026 mirrors his debut mindset, but with added confidence and refined skills. "My preparation is identical to when I first entered the IPL," he stated. "However, after batsmen began decoding my deliveries last year, I have incorporated several new variations into my repertoire to stay ahead."
Reflecting on his journey, Rathi noted that his limited domestic experience initially worked in his favor, allowing him to surprise opponents. "Performing well as an unknown entity in the previous edition was advantageous, but I am now entering this season with immense self-assurance," he added.

Rathi credited online resources for his development, stating, "I have acquired all my skills from YouTube tutorials; once I observe something, it stays with me. I analyze batsmen by studying their videos and apply insights from watching bowlers like Varun Chakravarthy."
Two months prior, the Lucknow Super Giants enlisted him to collaborate with newly appointed spin coach Carl Crowe. Rathi expressed gratitude for this opportunity, noting, "A mystery spinner often learns independently, but having a specialized coach like Carl, who has worked with Sunil Narine and others, is invaluable. He has introduced perspectives I hadn't considered, which are already yielding benefits."
Evolving Celebrations with Respect
Addressing his notorious notebook celebration from last season, Rathi assured that he has matured. "As a newcomer, I was unsure how to celebrate without disrespecting opponents. I have since learned to balance enthusiasm with sportsmanship. I will definitely celebrate achievements, but always with respect for every player," he affirmed.
