CSK were earlier hit by another blow when lead pacer Khaleel Ahmed was ruled out with a quadriceps injury. He picked up the injury during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14 and had to leave the field with just one ball remaining in his spell, which was completed by Gurjapneet Singh.

David Payne (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

David Payne, who joined SRH as a replacement for Jack Edwards, was ruled out due to an ankle injury. He featured in just two matches before suffering a twist in his ankle. Gerald Coetzee has been signed as his replacement and is yet to make his debut for SRH.

Brydon Carse (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Brydon Carse was ruled out ahead of the season opener against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He suffered a hand injury during a practice session and failed to recover in time. Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka was named as his replacement.

Tom Banton (Gujarat Titans)

Tom Banton has been officially ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a finger injury. The 27-year-old sustained the injury during a practice session, which kept him out of Gujarat Titans' early matches and eventually led to his withdrawal on April 17, 2026. He leaves the tournament without playing a single game this season. Gujarat Titans have signed South African wicketkeeper-batter Connor Esterhuizen as his replacement for Rs 75 lakh.
