Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fielder Anukul Roy produced a breathtaking catch near the boundary rope to dismiss Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match in Delhi on Friday. The wicket came off the bowling of Vaibhav Arora.
The Dismissal
Axar Patel attempted to pull a slower delivery towards deep midwicket, but Anukul sprinted to his left and completed the catch while moving at high speed near the boundary line. He lost his balance after collecting the ball and fell to the ground, but managed to hold on to it securely.
DC's Innings
Axar struggled during his stay at the crease, scoring just 11 runs off 22 balls as Delhi Capitals finished at 142 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka was the top-scorer for DC, smashing 50 off 29 balls. Ashutosh Sharma also contributed with a quickfire 39 off 28 balls, which included three fours and three sixes. For KKR, Anukul Roy and Kartik Tyagi picked up two wickets each.
Playoff Race Heats Up
Delhi Capitals started their IPL 2026 campaign on a strong note but have since encountered a rough patch, losing four of their last five matches. With the playoff battle intensifying, they entered this match in a must-win situation. Currently sitting seventh on the points table, they have four victories from 10 matches.
