Sakib Hussain Dismisses Kohli, Calls It Dream Wicket

New Delhi: Young Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Sakib Hussain experienced a memorable night after dismissing star batter Virat Kohli during SRH's commanding victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2026 at Hyderabad. The 21-year-old from Bihar described Kohli's wicket as a dream moment. 'Maza toh aya (It was joy for me). Virat Kohli's wicket was a dream wicket for me,' he told broadcasters after the match.

Sakib's Impressive Debut Season

Sakib continued his remarkable debut IPL campaign by claiming another wicket, taking his total to 15 wickets in 10 matches. He has now taken at least one wicket in every game this season, emerging as one of SRH's biggest young success stories.

SRH's Explosive Batting Display

Sunrisers Hyderabad put on another explosive batting show, posting a massive 255/4. Abhishek Sharma gave SRH a flying start with a quickfire 56 off 22 balls, attacking Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the outset. Ishan Kishan added 79 off 44 balls with smart strokeplay, while Heinrich Klaasen smashed 51 off just 24 balls, dominating Josh Hazlewood in one over. Nitish Reddy's late cameo helped SRH cross the 250-run mark, with the team hammering 20 fours and 16 sixes in total.

RCB's Chase Falls Short

RCB never looked capable of chasing such a massive target. Virat Kohli managed only 15 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal also failed to make a significant impact. Venkatesh Iyer provided some early momentum, but the chase soon became unrealistic. Once RCB realized victory was out of reach, Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya focused on reaching the important 166-run mark needed to secure a top-two finish. Patidar scored 56, while Krunal remained unbeaten on 41 as RCB ended on 200/4 despite the 55-run defeat.

League Standings

Even after the loss, RCB finished at the top of the league standings, while SRH ended third with the same number of points.
