Solanki: RCB Were Simply Better in IPL 2026 Final

Gujarat Titans Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki has opened up about the team's campaign in IPL 2026, acknowledging that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were the better side in the final. Solanki praised RCB for their dominant performance throughout the season and admitted that GT were second best in the title clash.

Solanki's Assessment of the Final

Speaking after the match, Solanki said, "RCB played exceptional cricket throughout the tournament, and in the final, they were simply too good for us. We gave it our all, but on the day, they were the better team." He added that the Titans were proud of their season despite falling short in the final. "We had a fantastic journey this year. The boys worked hard, and reaching the final is a great achievement. We will learn from this experience and come back stronger," he said.

GT's Performance in IPL 2026

The Gujarat Titans had a strong season, finishing in the top two of the league stage and qualifying for the final. Key performers included Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who played crucial knocks throughout the tournament. However, in the final, RCB's bowling attack proved too formidable, restricting GT to a below-par total.

Solanki emphasized that the team would analyze their performance and work on areas that need improvement. "We have a young and talented squad. This loss will only make us more determined to succeed in the future," he stated.

Praise for RCB

Solanki also took time to commend RCB for their title win. "Congratulations to RCB and their entire setup. They were consistent throughout the season and deserved to win. We wish them all the best for the future," he said.

The IPL 2026 final was a closely contested match, with RCB emerging victorious by a comfortable margin. The win marked RCB's second IPL title, adding to their growing legacy in the tournament.

As the season comes to a close, both teams will now focus on the upcoming auctions and preparations for the next edition of the IPL. Gujarat Titans, under Solanki's guidance, will aim to build on their strong performance and go one step further in 2027.
