Indian Railways has announced a special train service between Katra and Haridwar to cater to the surge in passenger demand on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya. The special train will operate on a specific date to facilitate devotees traveling for religious rituals.
Train Schedule and Route
The special train, numbered 04677, will depart from Katra at 11:00 PM and arrive at Haridwar at 10:00 AM the next day. In the return direction, train 04678 will leave Haridwar at 11:30 PM and reach Katra at 10:30 AM. The train will cover a distance of approximately 600 kilometers in about 11 hours.
Stoppages
The train will halt at major stations including Jammu Tawi, Udhampur, Kathua, Pathankot, and Rishikesh, among others. These stops will allow passengers from intermediate cities to board and alight conveniently.
Booking and Fare
Bookings for the special train have already commenced through the Indian Railways official website and counters. The train will have both reserved and unreserved coaches. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance due to expected heavy rush. The fare will be similar to other superfast trains on the route.
Additional Amenities
The train will be equipped with basic amenities such as drinking water, mobile charging points, and clean toilets. Railway authorities have also deployed additional security personnel to ensure passenger safety.
