Sunrisers Hyderabad's commanding 41-run victory over Punjab Kings has reshuffled the IPL 2026 points table, with SRH climbing to the top in a fiercely competitive season. Powered by strong performances from Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan, SRH posted a daunting 235/4 before restricting PBKS to 202/7.
The result handed Punjab their third consecutive loss and saw them slip from first place to second. At the summit, SRH now lead the standings with 14 points from 11 matches, having won seven and lost four, boasting a healthy net run rate of +0.737. Punjab Kings follow closely with 13 points from 10 games, including six wins, three losses, and one no result, maintaining a strong NRR of +0.571 despite the defeat.
Top Four Battle Heats Up
Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit third with 12 points from nine matches and possess the best net run rate in the competition at +1.420. Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans are tied on 12 points as well, placed fourth and fifth respectively. RR have a slightly better NRR of +0.510 compared to GT's -0.147, which could prove crucial in the playoff race.
Middle Order Teams in Contention
Chennai Super Kings remain in sixth position with 10 points from 10 games and an NRR of +0.151, still very much in the hunt for a playoff spot. Delhi Capitals, in seventh, have eight points from 10 matches, but their poor NRR of -0.949 continues to hamper their chances. Kolkata Knight Riders are eighth with seven points from nine games, including one no result, and an NRR of -0.539.
Bottom Teams Struggle
Mumbai Indians are ninth with six points from 10 matches and an NRR of -0.649, needing a near-perfect finish to keep their hopes alive. At the bottom, Lucknow Super Giants have struggled the most, managing just two wins in nine matches. With four points and a net run rate of -1.076, their playoff aspirations are hanging by a thread.
