A tragic road accident in Khargone district claimed the life of a 27-year-old man and left nine others injured, including four children and four women. The incident occurred late Sunday night when an autorickshaw overturned following a collision with an unidentified vehicle.
Accident Details
The mishap took place between Premnagar and Balwadi villages under the Jaitapur police station limits. The ten occupants, all residents of Gogawan, were returning home in an autorickshaw after attending a condolence meeting in the Sanjay Nagar area of Khargone town. As they neared Premnagar, an unknown vehicle allegedly struck their autorickshaw, causing the driver to lose control. The three-wheeler then overturned onto the road, according to police sources.
Casualties and Injuries
The injured were rushed to the district hospital with assistance from the autorickshaw driver and local residents. Among the victims was Sadiq, 27, who sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them during treatment on Monday. A 20-month-old boy named Abu, who was seriously injured in the crash, was referred to a hospital in Indore for advanced medical care. The other injured individuals are currently receiving treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Police Investigation
Law enforcement authorities have registered a case and launched a search for the unidentified vehicle involved in the collision. Officials stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Further updates are expected as the probe progresses.
