Notably, veteran batsman Ross Taylor, who retired from international cricket, is not in the squad. Also missing is fast bowler Trent Boult, who has opted out of central contracts. The selectors have opted for a youthful pace attack, with Ben Sears and Jacob Duffy also in the mix.
The squad will assemble in Dublin on July 5 for a preparatory camp before the Ireland Test.
