In a remarkable achievement that breaks stereotypes and defies odds, 18-year-old Neha Siwach, daughter of a farmer from Jhajjar, has secured All India Rank 14 among women candidates in the NDA 2025 final merit list. This accomplishment has brought immense pride to Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), where she is currently pursuing her studies.

Academic and NCC Background

Neha Siwach is a BSc Mathematics (Hons) student and an NCC cadet of the 2nd Haryana Girls Battalion. She completed her schooling from Sarvodaya School of Science, Imlota, in Charkhi Dadri. Her disciplined approach and dedication have been key to her success.

Preparation and Motivation

Speaking to Times of India, Neha expressed her anticipation for the joining letter and mentioned that she is likely to begin training at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. "I relied on self-study and focused preparation, working consistently on developing Officer Like Qualities," she said. Coming from a modest background, with her father as a farmer and mother as a homemaker, Neha acknowledged the support of her parents. "Despite limited means, my parents ensured I never felt any lack that could hinder my progress," she added.

Challenging Stereotypes

Neha's goal was to challenge societal norms. "Fewer girls opt for defence services. I wanted to prove that women can excel even in demanding roles like safeguarding the nation," she stated. Her achievement is a testament to her determination and hard work.

MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Milap Poonia termed it a proud moment for the university, highlighting the institution's commitment to nurturing talent that serves the nation.
