The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has announced plans to organize summer coaching camps across the state in 2026, targeting children between the ages of 8 and 16 years. According to officials, a total of 1,389 camps will be conducted in 55 different sports disciplines at 1,020 venues spanning 423 mandals.
Implementation and Monitoring
At a press conference, SAAP chairman Ravi Naidu stated that guidelines have been issued to district sports officers following a thorough review process. A three-member committee will oversee the implementation of the camps at the district level. The camps will operate under the supervision of District Collectors.
Funding and Facilities
Officials confirmed that funds have been allocated for sports equipment, training materials, camp management, and other operational needs. Basic amenities such as drinking water and refreshments will be arranged at all camp locations. Local organizations, sports associations, and volunteers are expected to assist in conducting the camps.
Program Objectives
The program aims to engage children during their summer holidays by providing structured training across multiple sports. Registrations and attendance will be tracked through a dedicated sports application, and officials have been instructed to monitor daily activities and training progress closely.
Inauguration
The camps are scheduled to be inaugurated by Sports Minister Mandepalli Ramprasad Reddy.
