Nagpur's Pranav Gaikwad Exits U-14 National Tennis Semis

Nagpur's promising young tennis talent, Pranav Gaikwad, experienced a day of disappointment as his campaign came to an end in the semifinals of both the singles and doubles events at the U-14 MSLTA-NDHTA All India Ranking National Series tournament on Friday.

Heartbreak for Local Hope in Singles and Doubles

Competing as the third seed in the boys' singles draw, Pranav Gaikwad was unable to find his rhythm against the second-seeded Vishwak Reddy from Hyderabad. The match concluded with a straight-sets victory for Reddy, who dominated with scores of 6-0, 6-2.

The disappointment was compounded later in the day during the doubles semifinal. Partnering with Archan Pathak as the third-seeded pair, Pranav fought hard but ultimately fell to the higher-ranked duo of Vir Chattur and Sparsh Patil. The Nagpur pair put up a resilient effort, especially in the second set, before succumbing with a scoreline of 2-6, 5-7.

In the other boys' singles semifinal, Mumbai's top seed, Aarav Chhallani, demonstrated his dominance with a convincing 6-4, 6-2 win over his city mate, Vir Chattur. The boys' doubles final will feature the top-seeded pairing of Aarav Chhallani and Vishwak Reddy, who secured their spot with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Taksheel Naagar and Devansh Acharya.

Girls' Events See Dominant Performances

The girls' singles semifinals witnessed a masterclass from the top seed, Parinitha V, who delivered a flawless performance. She blanked Aleeza Simra from Hyderabad 6-0, 6-0 to cruise into the championship match.

Awaiting her in the final will be the second seed, Sidhhi Pandey from Noida. Pandey earned her place with a solid 6-2, 7-5 win over Delhi's Shubhi Sharma. The top-seeded girls' doubles team of Parinitha and Sidhhi continued their commanding run, drubbing Aditri Singh and Vaidehi Shinde 6-2, 6-1.

In a closely contested second girls' doubles semifinal, the second-seeded duo of Falak Mehta and Shubhi Sharma emerged victorious after a tense battle. They overcame the challenge of Adira Bhagat and Sara Fengse with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 in the match tiebreaker.
