Adobe's Strategic AI Investment Empowers India's Next Generation

In a landmark move to accelerate AI-driven creativity and productivity, Adobe has announced a strategic investment aimed at India's burgeoning talent pool. The company revealed that its cutting-edge applications, including Firefly, Photoshop, and Acrobat, will now be offered free of charge to students through accredited higher education institutions nationwide. This announcement was made at the ongoing India AI Impact Summit, held at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.

Empowering Students with AI Skills for Future Success

According to Adobe, this initiative provides students with comprehensive access to the company's premier creativity and productivity software, complemented by specialized curriculum, training modules, and professional credentials. This toolkit is designed to equip graduates with a competitive edge in an era where artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming content creation, idea sharing, and business development. Shantanu Narayen, Chair and CEO of Adobe, emphasized the significance of this step, stating, "Adobe is expanding the opportunity for creativity for millions of students across India, empowering them with AI skills, further accelerating Prime Minister Modi's vision. I look forward to seeing what the students of India create with Adobe's industry-leading tools, and in doing so accelerating Viksit Bharat."

Supporting Job Creation and Government Initiatives

The company expressed optimism that this announcement reinforces the Indian Government's Create in India vision and aligns with the Union Budget 2026, which focuses on generating two million jobs in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector by 2030. In collaboration with the government, Adobe will extend its AI-first offerings, along with an industry-endorsed curriculum, to 15,000 schools and 500 colleges that will establish Content Creator Labs. This partnership aims to foster a skilled workforce ready to thrive in the digital economy.

Innovative AI Tools and Flexibility for Creative Expression

Adobe highlighted that students will benefit from its unique approach to generative AI and innovation, gaining access to AI-generated content that is both safe and commercially viable. The company also pointed out that students will enjoy choice and flexibility, as they can work with various generative AI models directly within Adobe applications. For instance, Adobe Firefly integrates leading industry models from Google, OpenAI, Runway, and others, allowing students to experiment with different tools and styles to generate content in their own unique manner. Additionally, with Acrobat Pro, students can enhance their productivity and collaboration by easily editing text and images to produce high-quality work.

Showcasing Indian Creativity and Expanding Skilling Programs

During the Summit, Adobe is showcasing 'Kathāvatār,' a series of five Made in India short AI films based on Indian folklore, produced in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Created by a new generation of leading AI filmmakers, these films will premiere at the AI Theatre of the Ministry at the event. Furthermore, as an extension of the Adobe Digital Academy, Adobe India has partnered with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime, a digital skilling initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This collaboration offers free, industry-relevant courses and certificates to learners across India, strengthening the country's AI and creativity ecosystem.
