Subnautica 2's alien ocean is one of the most breathtaking environments in gaming, teeming with a diverse array of unique creatures. These range from mildly annoying pests to outright lethal predators. At the top of the food chain are the Leviathans—colossal sea monsters that prowl the deepest, darkest corners of the map. Encountering them is a formidable challenge. Here is everything we currently know about every confirmed Leviathan in Subnautica 2.
All Subnautica 2 Leviathans
There are currently three confirmed Leviathans in Subnautica 2: the Shiver Leviathan, the Collector Leviathan, and the World Tree. More are expected to be added as the game receives updates through Early Access. Below are further specifics about each.
Shiver Leviathan
The Shiver Leviathan resembles a massive fish with a protruding bone skull and pointed fins built for stabbing. These creatures are deadly, and encountering them can result in instant death. Notably, they always hunt in packs. Males are typically smaller than females. You can find them in the Void, an area where building is not permitted. Upon entering their territory, they will surround you from all sides and take you down.
Collector Leviathan
The Collector Leviathan is an octopus-shaped deep-sea monster and the largest known fish in the game. It is extremely dangerous and will begin chasing you immediately. Its locations are the Outer Bounds and Sparse Plains biomes, where it roams alone. Despite its solitary nature, it is highly aggressive, so approach with caution.
World Tree
The World Tree is a titan-class Leviathan and likely the largest creature in Subnautica 2. It is dormant and poses no threat. Based on the story, it can be found across the map, and developers will likely make it fully interactable in future updates. This concludes all confirmed Leviathans in Subnautica 2.
