Allahabad Museum Launches Online Ticket Booking to Ease Congestion
Allahabad Museum Now Offers Online Ticket Booking

The Allahabad Museum in Prayagraj has introduced an online ticket booking system to streamline entry and reduce congestion at the ticket counters. The facility, which became operational on Thursday, is part of the government's broader push toward digital services.

How the Online Booking Works

Visitors can now purchase tickets from anywhere and select a preferred date of visit. The system is powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and has been developed by Airpaxit agency using a QR code-based platform. The QR code and booking link are available on the museum’s official website and its social media platforms. Users can scan the code to access detailed information about the museum and book tickets according to visitor category.

Ticket Prices and Categories

Ticket prices have been fixed at ₹20 and ₹50 for Indian visitors, while foreign nationals can purchase tickets for ₹500. On the first day of the launch, officials reported that seven tickets were booked online.

Future Enhancements

From May 2, visitors will also be able to buy tickets from all entry gates of Azad Park, further improving ease of access. The initiative is expected to boost tourism and offer a more seamless experience to visitors. The system was implemented under the supervision of museum director Soumya Agrawal.

This move aligns with the government's digital drive and aims to modernize the visitor experience at the historic museum. The online booking facility is expected to reduce waiting times and enhance overall satisfaction for both domestic and international tourists.
