Apple iOS 27: Three Major Updates Yet to Launch

Apple may still have three significant iOS 27 updates waiting to be unveiled, according to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. While the Cupertino-based tech giant showcased Siri AI and stability improvements at its annual developer conference WWDC 2026, insiders say that Apple is reserving some of the additional features for later this year, likely timed with new hardware launches.

Simplified Modular Ultra Watch Face

One of the upcoming features is a simplified Modular Ultra watch face. Designed for Apple Watch Ultra users, the new face retains the large clock design but removes the second row of complications, offering a cleaner look. Apple is expected to debut this watch face alongside the next Apple Watch lineup in September.

Expanded Siri Extensions

Apple is also preparing Siri extensions that will allow third-party AI apps such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to integrate directly with Siri. Unlike Apple's bespoke deals, this new Extensions API will open Siri to a broader ecosystem of AI providers. Apple has already discussed integration specifics with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, though privacy guarantees may differ from its earlier ChatGPT partnership.

Customizable Camera App

The third feature is a customizable Camera app, enabling users to rearrange controls to suit personal preferences. While not included in the initial developer beta, the redesigned Camera app is expected to launch with the iPhone 18 Pro in September, giving users more flexibility in how they capture photos and videos.

iOS 27 Release Date
