Mock Fire Drill at Bhel Trichy's Seamless Steel Plant
Trichy: An emergency mock fire drill was conducted at the Seamless Steel Plant (SSTP) of Bhel Trichy on Tuesday to assess preparedness for safety, security, and rescue operations at the factory.
The drill was held in the presence of R Rajasekaran, Joint Director of Industrial Safety and Health, Trichy, along with observers from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Ordnance Factory Trichy (OFT), Airports Authority of India (AAI), and High Energy Projectile Factory (HEPF). The exercise simulated an emergency scenario at the LPG yard of Unit II.
Rajasekaran emphasized that all observations and suggestions made during the mock drill must be considered for further improvements in safety measures at hazardous installations. Firefighting teams from OFT, AAI, Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services, and HEPF, under the Mutual Aid Scheme (MAS), joined Bhel fire service personnel during the drill.
