Varanasi: Two candidates were caught attempting to appear in the School Entrance Test (SET-2026) of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on Friday using forged admit cards.
According to the office of the Coordinator of School Entrance Examination, a preliminary inquiry revealed that the candidates had tampered with original admit cards using digital means in an apparent attempt to misuse them. Both were stopped from appearing in the examination. Authorities stated that a detailed inquiry is underway and appropriate action will be taken as per rules.
Examination Details
The entrance examination for Class 11 (Biology group) saw 10,385 applications, of which 7,979 candidates appeared across 20 centres within the university campus on Friday. On Saturday, the Class 11 (Mathematics group) exam was conducted at 29 centres across the city. Out of 16,761 registered candidates, 13,067 appeared for the test.
The examination was conducted smoothly at all centres, with strict security measures in place. Authorities have urged candidates to adhere to the rules and avoid any malpractices.
