The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially denied any security breach on its Online Submission of Marks (OSM) evaluation portal. In a statement released on Thursday, the board termed a viral social media claim regarding a data breach as completely misleading and baseless.
CBSE Clarifies on Alleged Security Lapse
Addressing the concerns raised by a viral post, CBSE clarified that no unauthorized access or data compromise occurred on the OSM portal. The board emphasized that the portal is secure and all evaluation data remains protected. It urged stakeholders not to fall for unverified rumors and to rely only on official communications.
Details of the Viral Claim
The viral post had alleged that the OSM portal experienced a security breach, potentially exposing sensitive evaluation data of students and teachers. However, after a thorough investigation, CBSE found no evidence to support such claims. The board stated that the portal's security protocols are robust and regularly audited.
CBSE's Assurance to Stakeholders
CBSE reassured schools, teachers, and students that the integrity of the evaluation process remains intact. It advised users to continue using the portal without any apprehension. The board also warned against spreading misinformation that could cause unnecessary panic among the academic community.
In its official statement, CBSE said, "The viral claim about a security breach on the OSM evaluation portal is completely misleading. There has been no such incident. We advise everyone to verify facts before sharing any such news."
The board further highlighted that it maintains high standards of cybersecurity and data protection. Any future updates regarding the portal's security will be communicated through official channels only.
