A 38-year-old man from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, has been reported missing after arriving at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru from Abu Dhabi on May 22. The man, identified as Abbas S, has been working as a car alignment worker in Abu Dhabi for the past 15 years.
According to a police complaint filed by his father, Shahul Ameed I, Abbas regularly visited his hometown and returned to Abu Dhabi after spending time with his family and friends. However, he had been under mental stress for the last eight to ten days and had informed his family that he would return home soon.
Abbas boarded a flight from Abu Dhabi and landed at Kempegowda International Airport at approximately 6:05 am on May 22. He called his wife and informed her that he had missed his connecting flight to Coimbatore and would be delayed. He also mentioned that his mobile phone battery was running low. Since that call, his phone has remained switched off, and he has not contacted his family again.
After searching for him without success, Abbas's family approached the Kempegowda International Airport police and filed a missing person complaint. The police have launched an investigation to locate him.
This incident highlights the challenges faced by families when loved ones go missing, especially when they are under mental stress. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Abbas's whereabouts to come forward and assist in the search.
