The National Zoological Park, popularly known as the Delhi Zoo, has introduced new digital initiatives to streamline visitor experiences. On Saturday, the zoo launched the NZP Saathi App and inaugurated self-ticketing kiosks, aiming to reduce queues and enhance convenience for guests.
Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, officially inaugurated these facilities at the zoo premises. The NZP Saathi App is designed to provide visitors with real-time information about the zoo, including animal details, feeding schedules, and navigation assistance. The self-ticketing kiosks allow visitors to purchase tickets quickly without waiting in long lines, using digital payment methods.
Key Features of NZP Saathi App
The app offers several user-friendly features:
- Real-time Updates: Visitors can access live updates on animal activities and zoo events.
- Digital Tickets: Users can book and pay for tickets directly through the app.
- Interactive Map: The app includes a detailed map of the zoo with turn-by-turn navigation.
- Educational Content: Information about various species, their habitats, and conservation efforts is available.
Self-Ticketing Kiosks
The self-ticketing kiosks are placed at strategic entry points. They accept multiple payment options, including credit/debit cards, UPI, and mobile wallets. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce waiting times, especially during peak hours and holidays.
Additional Information
The zoo administration has also integrated the app with other city services for user convenience. Visitors can check related information such as gold rates, silver rates, bank holidays, public holidays, Delhi AQI, weather updates, and fuel prices through the app's dashboard.
This move aligns with the government's Digital India initiative, promoting paperless and cashless transactions in public spaces. The Delhi Zoo remains one of the most popular attractions in the city, drawing thousands of visitors daily.
