Epson India President Samba Moorthy has stated that the company is putting more human intelligence than artificial intelligence in its printers, as it seeks to accelerate growth in the Indian market. Speaking about the company's strategy, Moorthy highlighted that Epson is betting on emerging segments such as digital textile printing, label printing, and automation, while continuing to strengthen its core home, office, and education businesses.
Human Intelligence Over AI
Moorthy emphasized that while AI is a valuable tool, Epson prioritizes human intelligence to ensure quality and reliability. 'We are putting more human intelligence than AI in our printers,' he said, adding that the company's focus remains on delivering customer-centric solutions.
Focus on Emerging Segments
Epson is investing heavily in digital textile printing, which offers faster turnaround times and customization for the fashion and textile industries. Label printing is another area of growth, driven by demand from retail and logistics. Automation solutions are being developed to enhance productivity for businesses.
Strengthening Core Businesses
The company continues to bolster its home, office, and education segments with innovative products. Epson's ink tank printers remain popular for high-volume, cost-effective printing. In education, the company provides solutions for digital classrooms.
India is a key market for Epson, and the company aims to expand its presence across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Moorthy noted that the company's growth strategy is aligned with India's digital transformation and sustainability goals.
