The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced comprehensive arrangements to facilitate smooth and hassle-free travel for students appearing for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled on June 21. The RTC said the corporation will provide free bus travel to all NEET candidates across the state.
According to an official release issued on Tuesday, executive director (operations) Gadde Nageswara Rao said students can avail the facility by producing their NEET hall ticket while travelling from their place of residence to the examination centre and for the return journey after completion of the examination. The facility will be available in Express, Ultra Pallevelugu, Pallevelugu, Metro Express and City Ordinary services across the state.
To facilitate the timely arrival of students at their examination centres, APSRTC has issued special instructions to all zones, regions and depots to operate adequate bus services from important traffic-generating points and examination centre routes. Additional buses will also be operated wherever necessary based on passenger demand.
Special help desks will be set up at major bus stations to guide students and assist them in reaching their destinations without inconvenience. Supervisory staff will also be deployed at important bus stations and examination centres to monitor operations and arrange additional services wherever required.
Transport minister Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy stated that special measures have been taken to ensure students reach their examination centres on time without facing transportation difficulties. He emphasised that the government is giving special attention to students’ futures and has taken this decision to reduce the travel burden on parents during the examination period.
