GTU Sponsors 40 Students for Semiconductor Program

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has announced that it will sponsor 40 students annually for the India Semiconductor Workforce Development Program (ISWDP), an initiative by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in collaboration with Synopsys and Samsung since 2025.

The scheme is part of a broader national effort under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), through which the Government of India is establishing semiconductor fabrication units, assembly plants, and design hubs across the country. Gujarat has emerged as a key hub in this mission, with major developments underway in Sanand and Dholera.

To support the growing demand for skilled professionals in the semiconductor sector, IISc Bengaluru has been organizing the ISWDP program annually. Recognizing the importance of this initiative, GTU has committed to sponsoring students from various engineering disciplines to help them gain specialized training in semiconductor technologies.
